The Sharing Harm Reduction Practices Network

We connect harm reduction practitioners within our region, creating opportunities for network members to share their knowledge and expertise with each other. We began with 7 states in the central Appalachian region (GA, KY, NC, OH, TN, VA, & WV), and are currently expanding to include more southeastern and bordering states.

Our goal is to be member-led and directed, offering network activities that meet the needs expressed by practitioners. You can find information on our ongoing activities and opportunities for horizontal skill-sharing below.

SHARP Sessions

Monthly, member-led gatherings that provide an unstructured space to spend time with others working in harm reduction who “get it.”

During this time, we share the work we are doing, offer support when it is needed, and take some time to hang out and network.

Sounding Board

Sessions are an open forum for you to share any projects you would like to receive feedback on from other network members.

We work with each member to design a session that is tailored to your needs, and we encourage you to bring any idea - big or small!

We publish the SHARP newsletter every 3-4 months. The newsletter focuses on highlighting the work being done within our region and sharing "news you can use" from our members and partners.

We are so grateful for our members who share their stories with us and make this newsletter possible.

SHARP Directory

We are building a member directory to help harm reduction practitioners working within our region find and connect with one another.

Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of the directory.

The SHARP Team is headed to Puerto Rico for the National Harm Reduction Conference in October. We will be doing a short presentation about the network and we hope to see some of you there (in person!).

If you have a project you're working on and you could use a space to get feedback from other practitioners, contact us about holding a Sounding Board Session! Contact Gina at to learn more about the session and how it can be tailored to your needs.

By joining, you’ll be on our listserve and will receive information about resources and events.

Thank you!
